CEBU City, Philippines — Long lines mark the first two hours of elections on the morning of May 13, 2019, due to paper jams, delaying the voting process in precincts around the province.
But according to lawyer Jerome Brillantes, the Provincial Election Supervisor, there is nothing to worry about.
“The paper jams can be adjusted by putting a cleaning sheet through the machine and it will function again,” he said.

Aside from paper jams, another issue that delayed the voting process is the “failure” of the Voter Registration Verification Machine.
The Provincial Comelec, however, cannot give an exact number yet of voting precincts that are having trouble with their VRVMs.
There are a total number of 3,716 voting precincts around the city and in the province.
The midterm elections in the province officially started at 6 a.m., and will end at 6 p.m. /bmjo
