School children in Bohol are now eager to attend classes after their school building that was damaged by the Oct. 15 earthquake was replaced with a new one.
Last March 5, the M. Lhuillier Financial Services Inc. (MLFSI) turned over a three-classroom school building worth P.5 million to Canmano Elementary School in Sagbayan town, Bohol.
MLFSI executive vice president for Luzon-National Capital Region Charles Lhuillier and EVP for Visayas-Mindanao Michael Lhuillier led the ceremony that was also attended by school officials and students.
The new school building is equipped with a brand-new 32-inch flat screen TV for visual instruction and a signage at the facade.
It took almost a month for M. Lhuillier to construct the building, which stands on an area that was once filled with earthquake rubble.
Vivian Samputon, the school principal, said almost 90 percent of the school’s facilities were damaged as a result of the earthquake. But with M. Lhuillier’s generous help, she could only say she is blessed for the aid the school has received.
