CEBU CITY, Philippines—The GMR Megawide Cebu Airport Corp. has scheduled a four-hour closure of the departure road located in front of the Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) Terminal 1 on Friday, July 12, and Saturday, 13.
According to a press statement from GMCAC, the road closure will be implemented from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. to allow the installation of the temporary covered walkways from the T1 departure drop-off to the curbside at the Waterfront Airport Hotel. The covered walkway will provide weather protection for the pedestrians.
GMCAC urges those who will go to the airport to follow all signage and instructions set up by the airport security for guidance.
All passengers for domestic flights of Philippine Airlines and Royal Air going towards the South Wing departure entrance hall are advised to proceed to the T1 departure road. However, they will be asked to make a U-turn to get to the drop-off point. Their vehicles will then exit through the car park bypass road.
On the other hand, all vehicles for arrival pick-up should turn left at the DHL building and then, proceed straight ahead to the T1 Transportation Hub.
All buses and coasters for departure drop off and arrival pick up should also turn left at the DHL building and proceed to the T1 Transportation Hub.
Meanwhile, the transfer bus and the MyBus coming from Terminal 2 (International) will be asked to turn right at the DHL building and proceed to the T1 Transportation hub. There will be no bus access at the T1 South wing and North wing departures./dcb
