A national repacking center will be set up in Cebu to expedite relief efforts in the Visayas areas hit by super typhoon Yolanda.
Tesda Secretary Joel Villanueva will arrive in Cebu today to coordinate with the Cebu provincial government and other affected local government units (LGUs).
The national repacking center will be stationed at the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC) since it is near the port and airport.
“Last night all the cabinet members were discussing this so this is really coordination work with the whole government agencies,” Tesda deputy director general Irene Isaac.
“We will appeal for more volunteers to help us repack,” she said. The Department of Social Welfare and Services (DSWD) will still spearhead the distribution and may continue with their repacking.
