Jollibee takes part in reviving Cebu Zoo

JOLLIBEE Foods Corporation is one with the Cebu City government in celebrating the 1st World Wildlife Day last March 3, at Cebu Zoo located at Brgy. Kalunasan.

The commemoration is in support of the proclamation made on the 68th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Hon. Nida C. Cabrera, Chairperson, Committee on Parks and Playground, Wildlife, Ecology and Environment, welcomed all the guests, visitors and sponsors of Cebu Zoo.

According to Hon. Cabrera, it is high time to promote bring back attention to Cebu City’s lone zoo – featuring different kinds of animals, from snakes, eagles, monkeys, and crocodiles among others. The Cebu City Parks and

Playgrounds Commission is also eager to revive Cebu Zoo and presented their development plan during that eventful day.

Hon. Mayor Michael Rama gave a speech and shared his childhood memories when visiting Cebu Zoo together with his family. He stressed out that youngsters should also experience this as part of family bonding. He said that the Cebu Zoo will become one of the main attractions in the province when actively promoted by both the City and Provincial Government, together with the aid of private partners.

Students who were invited by the Cebu City Parks and Playgrounds Commission got the chance to tour the zoo. Most of them were first timers and excited to see what it has to offer. A snake massage station and being able to touch a live crocodile were a few of the highlights that can be experienced.

As an active partner, Jollibee Foods Corporation provided Langhap Sarap food products to all the students.
