CEBU CITY, Philippines — A 22-year-old freelance model from Madridejos, Bantayan Island will wear the sash for Cebu City in Misters of Filipinas 2019.

Kevin Salgado hopes to bring Cebu another crown after Cebuano model John Paul “JP” Ocat of Talisay City won Man of the World Philippines 2018.

“The pressure is really here, but I am doing my best to focus on the positive side of everything,” Salgado told CDN Digital.

Instead of thinking about the pressure, Salgado is focusing his attention instead on how to improve himself for him to bring honor for Cebu City.

“‘Misters of Filipinas maybe my first national pageant, but through dedication, perseverance and the undying support of my family, I know that I can make Cebu City proud,” he told CDN Digital.

Salgado has been wanting to join Misters of Filipinas for him to bring his advocacy to the national level.

The Madridejos native wants to help unprivileged children at the Missionary of Charity, an orphanage in Cebu City.

He wants to hold regular visit which includes feeding, providing them basic needs and playing with the kids.

“Children deserve to be loved, cherished and valued. Ever since I was a kid, my heart always melts when it comes to children, that is why I choose to be an advocate on promoting ways to deal with the needs of children living in poverty,” he added./dbs
