CEBU CITY, Philippines – The Central Visayas Football Association (CVFA) continues to develop Cebu football by hosting a Philippines Youth Coaching Certificate (PYCC) slated from August 26 to September 1, 2019.

Those who wanted to start a career in coaching football can take their first step by taking this course.

“After sa PYCC, makastart na sila sa coaching og pwede na mo saka sila sa Licence C level,” said CVFA president Rodney Orale.

(After taking the PYCC, they can already start coaching and then they can go up to the Licence C level.)

According to Orale, they will be limiting the number of participants to 35 and will implement a first come-first served basis in their registration.

Those interested can visit the CVFA office and look for Sheila Ramos. Applicants will be asked to fill-up the biodata form. They are also advised to bring with them a passport-size photo. The deadline for the submission of biodata forms is on Wednesday, August 21.

The CVFA office is located along R. R Landon Street beside the Cebu City Sports Center.

The CVFA believes that along with developing players, coaches and referees should also be developed especially since the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) is now strict in implementing its policy. PFF now requires that teams should have a C-licensed coach before they will be allowed to join tournaments organized by the regional football associations.

Last June, the CVFA also hosted an Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Diploma C Coaching Course. Of the 24 that took the course, 17 were from Cebu.

PYCC participants must bring their own football gear for the practical lessons and  a notebook and a pen for the theory sessions. The venue for the PYCC is still being finalized. | dcb
