CEBU CITY, Philippines — The Department of Education (DepEd) will implement a massive reshuffling of regional directors, assistant regional directors, division superintendents and assistant division superintendents starting this year.
DepEd-Cebu Provincial Schools Superintendent Leah Apao told CDN Digital on Friday, August 23, that the reshuffling will be done nationwide based on a recent memorandum issued by Education Secretary Leonor Briones.
“This year, the assistant regional directors and division superintendents will be first reshuffled. In January 2020, the regional directors and assistant division superintendents will then be reshuffled,” Apao said.
Apao, however, clarified that the reshuffling was done as part of the prerogative of the department secretary to regularly reshuffle top officers of DepEd and for no other reasons.
“This is just an exercise of the authority of the secretary to reassign its personnel,” she added.
Central Visayas is composed of 19 schools divisions, including 10 city schools divisions spread in four provinces./elb
