AROUND a thousand runners are expected to answer today’s starting gun of the “Kapamilya Run: Dagan Batok Katalagman” of giant network ABS-CBN at the Cebu International Convention Center in Mandaue City.
The five-kilometer run is a fund-raising activity of ABS-CBN’s Kapamilya relief campaign for the victims of supertyphoon “Yolanda.” Proceeds of the race will be used to purchase relief goods for the typhoon victims in northern Cebu and eastern Visayas.
ABS-CBN’s June Perez said that he can’t determine the exact number of runners joining today’s race since registration is open until race day but said that they are expecting a thousand runners. The run will kick off at 5 a.m.
According to Perez, the first 500 finishers will get a certificate and a limited edition “Tulong Na,Tabang, Na Tayo Na” shirt.
