Man arrested for hacking nun in Consolacion

Consolacion policemen led by police chief Franc Oriol responded to a hacking incident inside Ave Maria Franciscan sisters Monastery in barangay Sacsac, Consolacion town, northern Cebu yesterday at 8 a.m.

The suspect was identified as Romilo Cordillera Tampus, 26, of sitio Tumilhaw, barangay Sacsac.

Initial investigation revealed that Tampus, armed with a bolo, barged into the monastery and with no apparent reason, hacked the victim, Sr. Annabel Macas, 36, of barangay Tolotolo, Consolacion.

Macas, who sustained hack wounds on his head and on different parts of his body, was brought to Cebu Doctors Hospital, while Tampus was detained at the municipal jail. An investigation is still being conducted to establish the motive of the incident.
