Chiang Kai Shek to play in Cebu for Goodwill tour

TWO OF Cebu’s best high school teams will get a taste of what top-flight Manila basketball is all about as the newly-crowned national champions Chiang Kai Shek College Blue Dragons roll into town this weekend for two exhibition matches in the Chiang Kai Shek College Basketball Goodwill Tour.
Fresh from their success in the National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) National Finals where they defeated the UAAP champions National University, the wards of head coach Goldwin Monteverde hope to flaunt their skills against the University of San Carlos (USC) Baby Warriors and the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles.
The Blue Dragons first take on USC this Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the USC gym.
A basketball clinic for players aged eight to 12 years old will then be held the following day at 9 a.m. at the SHS-AdC gym in Canduman, Mandaue City.
Afterwards, the Blue Dragons will be pitted against the Magis Eagles starting at 3 p.m.
The Blue Dragons are also set to visit an orphanage on Sunday before going back to Manila.
Players to watch out for from the Blue Dragons are their rising stars, Mohammad Salim and John Gallego. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
