At least 1 dead, 43 injured after powerful Mindanao quake – NDRRMC

MANILA, Philippines — At least one person was reported dead while 43 others were injured after a magnitude 6.6 earthquake hjolted central Mindanao on Tuesday morning.

Nestor Narciso, 66, a resident of Koronadal City, succumbed to massive as  injuries,  initial reports from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said.

Thirty people were reported injured in Kidapawan City and 13 others in Mlang, Cotabato.

Twenty-three local government units have also suspended classes , the NDRRMC added,

The earthquake struck 26 kilometers northeast of Tulunan, Cotabato at 9:04 a.m., the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.  /gsg
