Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental—A 19-year-old Business Administration student of the Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) was found dead inside his rented room in Barangay Junob, Dumaguete City, on Monday morning, November 4, 2019.

The dead body of Silverio Caesar, a native of Bayawan City, was found on his bed by his boardmate, Al James Ernie Marcelo, a police report said.

Marcelo, who reported the incident to the police after noontime, said that when he arrived at the boarding house, he noticed foul odor coming from the room.

When he opened the door, he saw the dead body of his boardmate.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Wilfredo Alarcon, officer-in-charge of the Dumaguete City Police Office, said that based on the initial investigation, there were no signs of foul play.

According to Alarcon, a few days before the discovery of the body, the victim reportedly said he was not feeling well.

“Ingon iyang  mga friends nga mi text siya ug miingon nga bisitaha unya ko ninyo ug pagdala ug kape,” Alarcon added.

(His friends said he texted them and asked them to visit him and bring with them coffee.)

Alarcon said the body was already bloated when found and investigators believed that the cadaver was discovered 72 hours after the victim died. /bmjo
