Parklane takes Tri Team Series lead after 2 legs

THE Parklane Tri-Team emerged as the leading team after two legs of the Tri Team Series in the ongoing Santa Fe Beach Games held in Santa Fe, Bantayan Island and organized by Sugbu Triathlon.
Last Sunday, Parklane Tri-Team’s Kristiane Lim pulled the team up in the team standings after topping the male over-all standard distance race 2:04.31 while Omega Pro Tri Team’s Lorhiz Echavez-Lopez ruled the distaff side in 2:31.12.
Parklane Tri Team leads the team standings with 561 points with Lim contributing 78 points. He earned 10 points in the swim and bike portion and scored eight points in the run leg of last weekend’s race. The rest of his points came from his first leg performance. Teammates Emmanuel Commendador, Hannah Lou Galo and Loveleneill Casidsid chipped in 66, 45 and 37 points respectively.
Galo placed second behind Lopez in the women’s race.
Parklane Tri-Team’s sister team, Parklane Tri Team Bravo composed of Johnny Ferniz II, Marlon Galo and male category C champion Stefan Lee Cagolada is in second place with 275 points.
Warren Troy Vergara of Tri Team Cebu earned 34 points to put his team at third place while Jorry Ycong of Repro Optima settled for fourth after two legs with 56 points.
Meanwhile, Tri Team Series organizer Coach Benjoe Jimenez of Sugbu Triathlon said that around 50 runners will be joining this Wednesday’s Twilight Run which will feature a five-kilometer race along the white sand beaches of Santa Fe, Bantayan Island. This will be followed by the open water swimming competition on April 18 and the Ocean Man duathlon on the 19th featuring a 200m swim and 400m run. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
