Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III visited the South Bus Terminal at past 4 pm today to personally check on the passengers bound for their respective provinces to observe the Lenten holidays.

“Pasaylo-a ko ninyo kay init kaayo. Atong aircon guba (Forgive me if it’s hot in here. Our air conditioning is busted),” he told the passengers waiting for a Dumanjug-bound bus.

He said the terminal needs to be expanded to accommodate more passengers. South Bus Terminal staffer Vincee Lumatguit said two police desks are present at the terminal.

“We have a provincial help desk at the entrance in the LTO,” Lumatguit said. She said the help desks have two to three police men each in addition to 10 other police men from the province.

About seven personnel from the Civil Security Unit will man the terminal. While there were thefts, she said this happened outside the terminal.

At the North Bus terminal, manager Zosimo Jumao-as Jr.,  said 16 police men from the Mandaue police precinct will guard their area. He advised the public to protect their belongings from robbers.
