With its advocacy to lead a plastic-free Sinulog this year, the Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) is preparing free drinking water stations for both the Solemn Foot Procession and Sinulog Festival Carousel route 2020.
Devotees are advised to bring their own water bottles, tumblers or reusable containers to help reduce the amount of garbage being produced during the events on January 18 and January 19.
MCWD is leading an enivornment-friendly 455th Fiesta Señor celebration and, at the same time, assist devotees in making their Sinulog 2020 safe, memorable and comfortable.
For the Sinulog Carousel on January 19, MCWD’s free drinking water stations will be put up along General Maxilom Avenue beside St. Theresa’s College; along Osmeña Boulevard in front of the Department of Health (DOH-7); in front of Bradford Church, in front of Harrison Park; in front of Sony Service Center; and across Camp Sotero Cabahug.
Other water stations for the Sinulog Carousel will be beside Sun.Star Cebu building along Don Pedro Cui Street, across the old Sacred Heart School campus and in front of MS Motosuit on General Maxilom Avenue.
Meanwhile, four free water drinking locations will be stationed during the Solemn Foot Procession on January 18. Water stations will be setup along University of San Carlos South Campus, across Camp Sotero Cabahug, infront of Harisson Park and in front of the Department of Health (DOH – 7).
The MCWD is also giving free drinking water to devotees and visitors staying at the Devotee City located in a vacant lot at the South Road Properties (SRP).
