CEBU CITY, Philippines— The Cebu City Government, through the Cultural and Historical Affairs Office (CHAO), will hold its 4th Cebu City Arts Week on February 10 to 14, 2020.

For an entire week, CHAO has prepared activities for all artists in Cebu.

Bryner Diaz, the officer-in-charge of CHAO, told CDN Digital the amazing things in store for all artists in Cebu.

“The kick-off ceremony will be on February 10 at the Plaza Independencia, where there will be a live sketching with Mayor Edgardo Labella and Vice Mayor Mike Rama,” said Diaz.

Diaz also said that the highlight of this celebration is the painting contest that will happen on the last day, which is on the 14th.

“This is already a studio work, so the submission will be on February 14 and the awarding is on the same day,” he said.

The paintings should highlight the heritage sites in Cebu.

There is also no limit on the number of participants.

“They can go to our FB page for the guidelines,” added Diaz.

The prizes for the painting contest would be P60,000 for the first placer, P40,000 second place, and P30,000 for the third placer.

“We are doing this for all the artists in the city. This is our way of promoting them and also they can help us in promoting our heritage sites around Cebu City,” said Diaz.
