Actor MJ Cayabyab on being part of ‘Love Thy Woman’ TV series: Amazing, outstanding

CEBU CITY, Philippines — “It’s amazing.”

This was how singer-actor MJ Cayabyab’s reacted when asked about his working experience with Cebuana star Kim Chiu in ABS-CBN’s new afternoon series, “Love Thy Woman.” 

The 27-year-old Bisaya actor plays Summer Dy, the senior interior designer for Dragon Empire owned by Adam Wong (Christopher de Leon), the father of Jia Wong (Chiu). 

“Good thing is that I get pointers (from Chiu and other stars). Ang dami kong na tutunan na naapply ko sa acting ko. It is outstanding,” he told CDN Digital, especially the series is composed of powerhouse cast. 

(I have learned a lot from Kim and from the rest of the cast. It really helps my acting. It is outstanding.)

“Love Thy Woman” is headlined by Chiu, De Leon, Eula Valdez, Sunshine Cruz, Xian Lim, and Yam Concepcion which premiered last February 10, 2020.

This is also the reunion series of celebrity couple Chiu and Lim after the 2016 series, “The Story of Us.” 

This is the first time that Cayabyab worked with Chiu. He describes the Cebuana actress as professional and good in her craft.

The 27-year-old actor from General Santos City is happy to portray the character of Summer Dy.  

He describes his new character as mature compared to his funny roles in other Kapamilya shows.

Cayabyab was part of “Be My Lady” in 2016 starred by Erich Gonzales and Daniel Matsunaga and portrayed Nars. 

He also played Isda, the best friend of Eva (Julia Barreto) in the top-rating series, “Ngayon at Kailanman” in 2018.

Before making it to television projects, the General Santos native inked a contract with Viva Artist Agency in 2012. 

He revived the song, “Larawang Kupas” in 2013 and the voice behind the 2017 single, “Paano Ba.” / Michelle Joy Padayhag
