City treasurer: Donations for new CCMC all in order

WITH donations reaching P15 million, a City Hall official assured that official receipts are issued for all donations for the new Cebu City Medical Center.

This is deposited in two CCMC trust fund accounts for Peso and US Dollar donations, said city treasurer Diwa Cuevas .

“We assure that every donation is properly receipted and accounted,” she  told Cebu Daily News.

The donation drive dubbed, “Piso Mo, Hospital Ko”  was launched by Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama right after the Oct. 15 earthquake last year left the hospital unsafe for occupancy.

Last Thursday, the CCMC ad hoc committee unveiled the 10-story design for the proposed new CCMC.
The building cost, excluding the equipment, is pegged at P1.4 billion.

According to the ad  hoc committee headed by Councilor Mary Ann delos Santos, they do not foresee further  problems with the city’s fundraising campaign.

cash donations only

Only cash donations have been received so far.

“We haven’t received donations in kind. So far, there are only pledges,” Delos Santos told CDN.

She said it’s better to wait for the construction of the building to be completed before receiving donations in kind.
Donations in kind, she said would be coursed through the CCMC ad hoc committee.
