MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area (LPA) east of Davao City is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) in a few hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said early Friday morning.
Pagasa weather specialist Ariel Rojas, in a 4 a.m. weather forecast said that the LPA was last spotted 1,055 kilometers east of Davao City.
Another hot and humid day is expected nationwide as the easterlies or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean will prevail over the eastern section of Southern Luzon and Visayas, according to Rojas.
He said that rain showers are possible in the afternoon or evening.
“Sa ibang bahagi ng Luzon kasama ang Metro Manila, mainit at maalinsangang panahon din ang iiral pero sa dakong hapon o gabi ay posibleng magkaroon ng mga panandaliang pag-ulan dulot ng localized thunderstorms,” said Rojas.
(In other parts of Luzon including Metro Manila, there will be hot and humid weather but in the afternoon or evening, there might be isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.)
No gale warning has been raised by the weather bureau.
