Minimize annoying pimples with this five-step routine

Cebu City, Philippines–We all get pimples and acne at some point in our lives, and they can be very, very annoying.

Skin products are available to maintain our skin, but they can also be very expensive. Sometimes, you’re not even sure if they work.

But there are simple tips from dermatologists that can help your acne problems.

Here are some:

Wash twice a day

Since acne-prone skin is sensitive, you should wash your face twice a day. This is enough to remove impurities, dead skin cells, and extra oil from your skin’s surface.

Irritation can occur when you wash your face more than two times a day and will only make your acne problems worse.

Dermatologists recommend washing your face in the morning and before going to bed. But if you sweat in the middle of the day, it’s also recommended to wash after sweating.

Avoid scrubbing

When our face gets greasy, dirty, or grimy, we are tempted to scrub it.

Acne-prone skin will only get irritated when you scrub it.

As much as possible, avoid scrubbing your face with a washcloth, exfoliating glove or any coarse-textured sponge.

Instead, use a very soft cloth or just your hands to avoid your acne from getting worse.

Rinsing

Always rinse your face well, make sure there are no products left.

After washing, dry your face with a clean towel or facial tissue.

Only use your washcloth once and make sure to store your towels in a clean area.

As much as possible, use clean and fresh towels to wash your face since dirty towels spread bacteria.

Moisturize

Some products that you are using to clean your face or to eliminate your acne can dry your skin.

A light and mild moisturizer can also always help you minimize dryness and skin peeling.

A friendly tip from dermatologists is to look for “non-comedogenic” moisturizers. This means it should not cause acne.

Also study different moisturizers that are specifically made for oily, dry, sensitive, or combination skin.

No touching

You think it’s not harmful but avoid touching your face.

This includes picking and popping your acne!

Popping your pimple is not the safest way to clear it fast.

It can only make it worst and lead to more serious problems.
