Checkpoints net 3 armed men

FOUR men were arrested in a police checkpoint Thursday night for possessing unlicensed guns and for possessing drug-sniffing paraphernalia in barangay Camputhaw, Cebu City.

The checkpoints were set up near Mango Square on Mango Ave. which is considered a crime-prone area because of its active nightlife activities, said Chief Insp. Wildemar Tiu, chief of the Fuente Police Station.

A .38 cal. revolver with six live rounds were seized from Junjie Pilapil, 27, of barangay Tipolo, Mandaue City, while Jacknel Gomez, 22, of barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City, yielded a .357 cal. revolver with two live rounds.

Also caught carrying a .38 cal. revolver was Roger Mabanag, 32, of barangay Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City.

Arrested for carrying drug paraphernalia was Marlon Arquisal, 25, of barangay Pulpogan, Consolacion town.
