Former PBA stars play in Cebu

Former superstars of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) strut their wares once again when they see action in a goodwill game initiated by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) at Cebu Coliseum, Thursday.

Kenneth Duremdes, a former PBA MVP awardee, Bal David, Marlou Aquino, Bobby Jose, Jerry Codiñera and Rodney Santos suit up for Team Trabaho, which go up against Team Specialista in a friendly encounter dubbed, “Shoot For Your Dreams.”

Team Specialista have Junthy Valenzuela, Donbel Belano, Bonel Balingit and Ramon “El Presidente” Fernandez, one of only two players to win four MVP awards in the PBA. Also part of the Specialista lineup is Joel Villanueva, secretary of Tesda and former member of the Philippine Youth Team while he was playing for the University of Santo Tomas.

Apart from Tesda students playing for the squad, Team Specialista will also have businessman Glen Soco, Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama and Cebu City South District Rep. Bebot Abellanosa.

Admission to the game was free.
