Cops catch 2 girls selling nubain

Two girls aged 13 and 15 were caught selling ampules of Nubain in a buy-bust operation in barangay Kamagayan, Cebu City last Monday night.

The girls were later turned over to social workers, police said.

Supt. Romeo Santander, chief of the City Intelligence Branch of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), said they were surprised when the two girls showed up and handed ampules of Nubain to a policeman who acted as a poseur-buyer.

Each ampule was sold at P150 to P200.

Santander said they believed that the girl’s parents were aware that their children were involved in the illegal activity.

Santander said they learned that the two girls had been selling Nubain in the past three years after their fathers abandoned them.

“They do this to sustain their needs kay estudyante ni sila”, Santander said.

The two girls were capable of selling 50 ampules a day and could earn P5 to P10 for every sold ampule.

Five hours earlier, several packs of suspected shabu worth P40,000 were seized from a man in barangay Quiot.

Christopher Nacorda Anticristo was arrested by operatives of the Regional Special Operation Group, who acted on an armed person alarm.

Police caught Anticristo in his home with a .38 revolver with three bullets tucked in his waist.
Police later found out that the man possessed 12 medium and 168 small packs believed to contain shabu.

Anticristo admitted ownership of the seized illegal drugs but denied owning the firearm.
