MANDAUE CITY, Philippines — Chairs and decorations such as parols or Christmas lanterns are set up in the gymnasium in Barangay Tabok, Mandaue City today, December 14, 2020, in preparation for the upcoming Misa de Gallo.
The gym was identified as one of the satellite areas where the dawn Masses will be held starting December 16 to 24, 2020.
Mary Nova Rivera, the barangay’s Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairperson, said that the parols used were made by the youths following their celebration of the Linggo ng Kabataan.
“Nakita nato kung unsa diay ka diverse ang ato’ng kabatan-unan not only in sports but also pwede pod diay sa matang sa pagdisenyo,” said Rivera.

Tabok Barangay Captain Donario Tariman said that this was not the first time but the third time that the gym was used to hold dawn Masses.
Aside from the police personnel and Marshall Ministry of the Church, Tariman said that tanods would be deployed inside and outside of the gym to help ensure that safety protocols would be followed.
They have already marked the side seats of the gym specifying where the residents should seat.
“Ato gyu’ng ipatuman proper guidelines sa safety protocols,” said Tariman.
