A 41-year-old man was fatally stabbed by his own father after he allegedly ran amuck and spoiled the debut party of his sister in barangay Tangob in Pinamungajan town in Cebu’s midwest.
Renato Sungahid, 41, succumbed to a stab wound in the chest. His father Cristituto, 69, surrendered to the police after the incident.
Police said the incident happened last Wednesday.
Police said Renato got drunk during the party and pulled out a revolver. His mother tried to pacify him, but this further enraged the victim who pointed the gun at some visitors.
Renato then strangled his mother, prompting his father to intervene.
He, however, turned his ire on his father and threatened to kill him.
Blinded with rage, Cristituto took a knife which he earlier used to butcher a pig and stabbed his son.
Renato was taken to the Pinamungajan District Hospital where he was declared dead.
Cristituto surrendered the knife and his son’s gun to the police.
