MANDAUE CITY, Cebu – Vice Mayor Thomas Mark “Mix” Durano has warned Danao City businessmen against scammers using his name to order food.

In an advisory which he posted on his Facebook page on Sunday, January 24, Durano said that a scammer, who was using his name, has called at least two stores in their city.

A still unidentified individual ordered 50 cups of milk tea and 50 solo french fries from a store using his name.

“Ako lang ipa hibalo ka ninyo Somebody is using my name nga mo order ug pagkaon o bisag unsa plz e confirm ninyo.. daghan scammer,” Durano’s post reads.

(I would like to inform all of you that somebody is using my name to order food and other items so please always confirm.  There are scammers [proliferating in our City.])

In support of Durano’s post, the Danao City government urged businesses to always verify the information provided by their clients before preparing the food order and to call for police assistance when needed.

Local officials are also asking individuals involved in this scamming “modus” to already change their ways.
