MANDAUE CITY, Philippines – The Mandaue City COVID-19 Vaccine Board is now drafting a vaccination program against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Subangdaku Barangay Captain Ernie Manatad, the city’s vaccine czar said that since last week they have already discussed drafting the local plan for pre-vaccination, preparing the vaccination registration, the creation and deployment of the vaccination teams, amount of appropriation, identification of the recipients of the vaccine, among others.
Manatad said the Management Information System Office (MISO) has already come up with a local link in support of the Electronic Registration of the Department of Health (DOH).
“Para we can go ahead sa amo’ng profiling nag una-una nalang mi og himo og amo nga link but based on the form distributed by the DOH kay amo’ng mga move girefer sad namo sa DOH, although for the data we have naman the available data to supply like for example the number of senior citizens, number of local frontliners. We can put that up already sa ato’ng plan but we need to have the individual profiling, mao nga naay elecronic registration,” said Manatad.
He said the vaccine team is composed of barangay and city health personnel. They are also planning to tap medical workers specifically the health workers who conducted the rapid testing in Mandaue City.
He added they are now identifying suitable vaccination sites like gymnasiums and schools to ensure physical distancing during vaccination. He added that all barangays would have a vaccination site.
The city, Manatad said, is also preparing a team that will respond to any adverse reactions of the vaccine recipients.
“Gipangandaman na nato ang worst reactions to mild reactions mga ingun ana ba,” he said.
They are also fast-tracking the master list of the priorities for the vaccination program such as the senior citizens, frontliners, children, and teachers, among others.
He added that the city has allotted P100 million to procure COVID-19 vaccines for residents who will not be included in the allotted vaccines from the national government. /rcg
