MANILA, Philippines — The northeast monsoon or “amihan” will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Metro Manila and most parts of Luzon on Friday morning, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
“Northeast monsoon pa rin ang nakakaapekto sa malaking bahagi ng Luzon. Samantala, tail end of a frontal system naman sa Southern Luzon,” Pagasa weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said in a livestreamed weather update.
(The northeast monsoon is still affecting most parts of Luzon. Meanwhile, the tail end of a frontal system is affecting Southern Luzon.)
Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, and Aurora in particular, will experience cloudy skies with light rains due to amihan, Bulquerin said.
Bulquerin also noted that partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will persist over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon brought by the northeast monsoon.
Meanwhile, the tail-end of the frontal system will bring cloudy skies and isolated thunderstorms over the Bicol region, Quezon, Marinduque, Romblon, Mindoro and Samar provinces.
Mindanao and Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains caused by localized thunderstorms, Bulquerin added.
