An ex-convict was shot and killed by a motorcycle-riding assailant in barangay Carreta, Cebu City last Thursday night.
Ramil Felicano, a resident in the barangay, succumbed to gunshot wounds in the head and body.
According to SPO1 Ruth Violango, Felicano was convicted for homicide and robbery charges, He was released from the National Bilibid Prison in 2011.
Personal grudges could be the motive behind the killing, said Violango, investigator of the homicide section of the Cebu City Police Office.
Felicano was a suspect in several shooting incidents in the city and was also implicated in the killing of a tanod in Carreta last month.
Police said Felicano and a male companion were walking along a road in sitio Ponce Dos when a motorcycle with two men onboard stopped near him.
The back-rider then drew a gun and fired shots at Felicano. The victim’s companion was unhurt.
Police recovered a hand grenade from the victim’s pocket.
