LAPU-LAPU CITY, Philippines – The Lapu-Lapu City Health Department (LCHD) has already profiled 53% of healthcare medical frontliners for the city’s COVID-19 vaccination program.
Currently, the Lapu-Lapu City Government has been profiling healthcare medical frontliners, who will be prioritized in the COVID-19 vaccination program.
Mae Cheryll Tepait, the national immunization program nurse coordinator of LCHD, said that the city has identified 2,969 healthcare medical frontliners employed in both public and private institutions in the city.
Tepait, however, clarified that the LCHD is only profiling workers from private clinics, birthing centers, among others, while private and public hospitals are conducting their own profiling.
She revealed that of the 53% healthcare medical frontliners that they’ve profiled, only 32-35 percent have given their consent to be immunized, while the rest are still undecided or have turned down the COVID-19 vaccine.
“Naa sa’y nag yes, naa sa’y undecided kay nagpili sab sila ug ilang bakuna, sa brand, pero dili man ta makabuot. Kung unsa ra gyuy maabot, mao ra gyud na atong mahatag,” Tepait said.
On February 24, the city will also conduct a simulation for the COVID-19 vaccination, which will be held in the Barangay Pajo gymnasium.
Dr. Agnes Realiza, head of the LCHD, said that this is to determine the number of hours that an individual will have to spend in the whole vaccination procedure.
Realiza added that they will also set the schedule of the vaccination depending on who will be prioritized in the program.
“At this time kay nag pre-register paman mi, wala pa gyud ta’y gi-allot kun pila gyud kabuok kay daghan paman private clinics, mga dental nga among kuhaon.
