Waterfront denies “malicious information” circulating online

CEBU CITY, Philippines — Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino debunks claims circulating on social media that it is a source of COVID-19 infections in the city.

In a statement posted by the premier hotel on their Facebook page, Waterfront denies the malicious information circulating online and assures the public that the hotel has been stringent in its health and safety measures to keep guests and patrons safe from the virus.

“Waterfront Cebu strongly denies this malicious information and ensures the public that we are going above and beyond to ensure that COVID-19 safety and health measures and practices are strictly implemented in the hotel…” the statement reads.

According to the hotel, posts circulating on various social media platforms and group-chats have put the hotel in a bad light.

Since the onset of the quarantine period, the hotel said it has been compliant with the orders and directives of the Department of Health, Department of Tourism and, other local government agencies.

The hotel has also encouraged guests and its staff to always wear their masks and face shields, and have put up extra steps on cleaning the rooms and other common touchpoint areas to ensure maximum safety.

“We assure our guests, clients, and patrons that we are taking the necessary precautionary measures and have been a complaint with all the order and directives of the DOH…” the statement says. /rcg
