With the new normal, institutions that cater to large groups of people are forced to radically change how they work and operate. One of the cultural institutions that were greatly affected was the museums.

To keep their operations going, they have no choice but to find ways to adapt and transform their missions for the digital age.

While most museums have closed their physical doors for the safety of the public, patrons are now being introduced to art exhibits and museums in the virtual space.

In celebration of the National Arts Month 2021, immerse yourself in the arts community and rich Philippine heritage with the virtual exhibits these following museums offer.

Casa Gorordo

Casa Gorordo is an example of a Spanish colonial era house called “Balay nga Tisa.”

This house-museum located in the historic Parian district of Cebu City, is known for the plethora of important artworks and artifacts that serve as an iconic piece of Cebuano cultural identity.

Even in time of the pandemic, visiting the Casa Gorordo is not impossible with its shift to the online platform.

Experience an online tour that allows you to take a 360-degree look at the museum, and click around historical pieces and artifacts to get additional information and details on their histories. There is also a split view feature and videos where guests can see a dramatized depiction of events in the history of Casa Gorordo.

Qube Gallery

The Qube Gallery is a progressive art space providing network opportunities for contemporary artists.

Before the new normal, Qube Gallery was one of the frequently visited art exhibition spaces in Cebu. Many visit the art gallery to see the various contemporary and modern works of art made by local and international artists alike. But with the strict health restrictions, Qube Gallery, in the meantime, can now only be visited by a limited number of people via appointment to ensure the safety of their patrons.

To further promote talents by showcasing different exhibitions in time of the pandemic, Qube Gallery embraced the change and continued its operations online. Notable artworks are now being presented on their Facebook page and other exhibits are also showcased on online websites.

While most museums have closed their physical doors for the safety of the public, patrons are now being introduced to art exhibits and museums in the virtual space.

Scroll through their facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/qubegallery/ to see the artistic pieces of creative individuals and groups and to be updated on the online exhibits of Qube Gallery.

This February 21-28, 2021, Qube Gallery will be showcasing some of its fresh and familiar pieces at Art in the Park’s Online Exhibition.
