CEBU CITY, Philippines — Cebu City streets will now welcome jeepneys from Talisay City and Mandaue City.
Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella has released Executive Order No. 122 that has detailed the jeepney routes from the said cities that can now enter the Cebu City border.
The EO amends the previous order that has allowed the city’s own jeepneys to return back to the streets, but has placed limits for inter-city jeepneys to enter.
In the new EO, the following routes are now allowed to enter Cebu City:
Talisay City
1. 41 D – Tabunok to Cebu City (via V. Rama to Taboan)
2. 42D – Poblacion Talisay to Cebu City (via V. Rama to Taboan)
Mandaue City
1. 20A – Ibabao to Ayala
2. 20B – Ouano to Ayala
3. 21A – Ibabao to Manalili
4. 21B – Ibabao to Manalili
5. 22A – Ouano to Manalili
6. 22B – Ouano to Manalili
7. 22I – Ibabao to Country Mall
“Since October of last year, we have gradually allowed traditional jeepneys to resume operations. Sigun usab sa rekomendasyoon sa Cebu City Jeepney Task Force, ako kining gi-issue ang Executive Order No. 22 nga nagtugot sa mga jeepney routes gikan sa Tabunok, Poblacion Talisay ug gikan sa Ibabao ug Ouano sa Mandaue padung Ayala, Manalili ug Country Mall,” said Labella.
The mayor warned these inter-city jeepney drivers that they must follow not only the traffic rules of Cebu City but also maintain the health protocols.
Should they be found violating the health protocols of social distancing and requiring passengers to wear masks and face shields, the city may ban their entry to the city either the driver or a particular unit.
“We have to maintain the health protocols or else di nato sila padaganun,” said Labella. /rcg
