LAPU-LAPU CITY, Philippines — The acting Lapu-Lapu City Treasurer has been recognized as one of the most inspiring city treasurers in the province with the Lapu-Lapu City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) collecting P1.389 billion in taxes in 2020 despite the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
Felicitas Baguio, acting Lapu-Lapu City Treasurer, said the CTO the P1.389 billion tax collection was still lower as compared to the P1.732 billion in taxes collected in 2019.
Despite this, Baguio was recognized as one of Cebu Province’s Most Inspiring City Treasurers by the Bureau of Local Government Finance and was nominated for the regional qualifier of the award.
The award is given to city treasurers, who show an inspiring story, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
