CEBU CITY, Philippines— As Metro Cebu experienced hot weather in the past days, the weather bureau here clarified that this isn’t still the heat brought by the summer season.
Ferds Rubin, weather observer of Pagasa-Mactan, told CDN Digital that this heat is actually brought about by the easterlies.
“The air is hot because it’s coming from the Pacific. This isn’t the summer heat yet,” he said.
For the past few days, Metro Cebu recorded heat index reaching 38 ˚C, Rubin said.
For now, they are still waiting as to when they can officially announce the transition to dry hot season.
With that coming our way, expect even hotter weather and more sunny days.
Always remember to stay hydrated, drink a lot of water and avoid drinking coffee too much in a day.
Stay indoors if possible, and if heading out, remember to bring a bottle of water and an umbrella or anything that can protect you from the scorching heat of the sun.
Amping, Siloys!
