A 33-YEAR-OLD man stabbed and wounded his three neighbors who tried to stop him from hanging himself at home last Monday in barangay Quiot, Cebu City.

Police said the man was suffering from a nervous breakdown, the result of domestic troubles when his wife and children left him.

The neighbors who sustained stab wounds in the shoulder, arm or back were Roldan Romano, 44; Aurelio Reroma Gabuya, 56; and Reygel Rago Sadorra, 19.

PO1 Michael Singson, homicide investigator of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), said the three neighbors were drinking near the man’s house when they saw him with a rope tied around his neck.

The three rushed to the house and barged into the room, where they saw him about to tie the other end of the rope to a beam.

Angry that his suicide atttempt was disrupted, the man turned on the neighbors with a knife.
Out of fear, the neighbors backed off and hid in their houses.

No one dared to approach the man until operatives of Punta Princesa Police Station arrived and took him into custody.

The wounded men were taken to the hospital for treatment.
