Nina Arny on creating music inspired from the pandemic

The pandemic has made most of us feel stressed and anxious as the world continues to battle an invisible foe.

But for singer-songwriter Niña Arny, staying at home has enabled her to create music and reflect on her new direction for her songs.

“I found the time and my head is clear, a lot of new ideas rush through my head, and with my guitar on hand, I have new music,” she said in an interview with CDN Digital.

Arny lent her voice to CDN Digital’s online visitation as part of the online news portal’s Lent special.

According to Arny, music has been her companion during her quarantine period all while doing a 9 to 5 job in Canada.

Currently, she is working at a medical clinic, earning her degree, and “Music has been my go-to stress reliever especially during this pandemic.”

Arny said she constantly listens to Disney songs as a way to keep her motivated during hectic days.

“Disney songs always make it to the top list as they remind me to keep dreaming and to constantly work to make those dreams come true, and this pandemic will not stop me from doing that,” she added.

NEW MUSIC

Despite being cooped-up from her busy schedule, Arny still finds time to create new tunes for her fans.

She said in an interview with CDN Digital that she is currently working on a new song and plans to complete it as soon as she is done with the school year.

“They vary from cute love songs to sad songs, and with all the outdoor camping activities my family has planned for the summer, I may be set to make more,” she shares.

She advised aspiring music artists to always dream big, and never lose hope in your dream. And when an opportunity knocks on your door, she said to never hesitate and grab that chance.

“Grab every opportunity that comes your way; this builds up experience and more chances to connect with people who share the same passion,” she said.

She also reminds everyone that though times are very uncertain, always remember to be grateful and keep your feet on the ground.

“And as you grow, always keep your feet on the ground and look back from where you started. Always remember that character beats talent,” she added.
