AN 11-MONTH-OLD old baby girl was killed after her neck reportedly got entangled in a hammock in barangay Pajac, Lapu-Lapu City.
Police said loose strands of the hammock were found looped around the infant’s neck. The infant
was the youngest in a brood of eight.
The baby’s parents were at work when the accident occurred.
Police said the baby was in a hammock when her parents arrived. The mother, Evelyn Bisnar, 38, said she thought her daughter was just sleeping but was surprised to see that there were strands of loose thread looped around the baby’s neck.
The mother tried to wake the baby but she did not respond. The baby was rushed to the Mactan Doctors’ Hospital where she was declared dead.
Police said there were no signs of foul play.
The parents were also convinced that what happened was an accident, police said.
