Mantra is a Sanskrit term, with “man” which translates to mind and “tra” to release or to free from.

In the yoga tradition, a key element of meditation is the repetition of a sound or a prayer—a mantra. 

This year’s International Yoga Day, June 21, 2021 has passed but still think of a mantra — a word or phrase you repeat out loud or silently during meditation to instill peace and tranquility in your mind.

Mantra meditations can make a lot of difference, especially if you have trouble concentrating or getting in the right frame of mind as this promotes focus and intention.

According to healthline.com, mantras help increase self-awareness, reduce stress, a greater sense of calm, increase self-compassion and a more positive outlook in life.
