Seeing the event as most successful, Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza could no longer think of anything more to do next year to top this year’s IronMan.

“We already have done, maybe our best, within our available budget.” Radaza said.

“We keep on improving. It was a better event compared to last year and in fact, I’m already thinking about next year. How we can do it do differently again,” she added.

Senior Supt. Armando Radoc, OIC chief of Lapu-Lapu City Police Office, said security and crowd control measures were well enforced, traffic was normal and there were no stranded passengers reported.

Three straight years of hosting the Cobra IronMan triathlon has placed Cebu province as one of leading sporting destinations, said Provincial Tourism Officer Mary Grace Paulino  who received positive feedback from the participants.

“Soon, word will get around on the great experience, bringing in more tourists,” she told Cebu Daily News.

Provincial Administrator Mark Tolentino said  Fred Uytengsu, owner of the Cobra Ironman 70.3 franchise, was pleased with the preparations.

“Mr. Uytengsu said it was a great sight. The forces were very organized and visible from above. Even the first placer said he was very inspired because of the cheering crowd. It’s something to be proud of,” he said.
