USC in SBP Finals

The powerhouse University of San Carlos (USC) marched on to the finals as it registered another dominant win, this time over the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R), 63-32, in the semifinals of the Small Basketeers of the Philippines (SBP) division of the Milo BEST Center Twin Tournament yesterday at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu basketball courts.

USC had been beating opponents by an average of 50 points per game and though the final margin settled at 31, it was enough to place the Baby Warriors in the finals for a shot at making it to the regional finals slated later this year.

Waiting for USC in the finals will be the University of the Visayas (UV), which slipped past SHS-AdC, 41-37, in the other semifinals pairing.

UV is aiming for a sweep of both the SBP and Passerelle title after its Passerelle squad claimed the championship two weeks ago.

The SBP finals will be held on Aug. 16 at the Capitol Parish gym along Escario St.
