Miss World Philippines postponed ‘indefinitely’

Dalaguete, Cebu–The Miss World Philippines organization announced on Monday, August 2, 2021, that it has postponed its coronation night indefinitely.

“Miss World Philippines 2021 Coronation Night is still postponed in compliance with the government and IATF’s stricter ECQ restrictions in NCR,” said the organization via Instagram post.

The coronation night was to be held on August 8, 2021.

The announcement came in compliance with the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) guidelines as it reimposes a stricter Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in the NCR.

In previous reports from INQUIRER.net, Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque on Friday, July 30,  said Metro Manila will return to lockdown mode from August 6 to 20, amid the possible surge in COVID-19 cases due to the Delta variant.

This is the third time that the organization has postponed the date of their coronation night.

The Miss World Philippines organization had canceled their 2020 edition due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
