Talisay police urged to stop illegal gambling

THE local government of Talisay City ordered its police force to curb the operation of video karera and other illegal activities in the city.

Councilor Danny Caballero, chairman of the City Peace and Order Council (CPOC), issued the order during the council meeting yesterday.

John Yre De los Reyes, city administrator, has observed that video karera machines have proliferated in the city and he has reported this to Talisay City officer-in-charge Supt. Resty Santos.

De los Reyes is concerned with the city’s peace and order situation and told the police to do their work and not just sit inside their office.

Caballero agreed with John Yre and challenged Santos to show accomplishments on their drive against video karera.

Caballero added the fact that those hooked on the illegal gambling are mostly minors which should be a cause for concern.

Chief Insp. Rodgene Fudotan, deputy chief of Talisay City Police, is asking the community to help them in their fight against video karera operations.

He said they have confiscated a number of video karera machines but admitted that they have not arrested the operators and caretakers.
