MANDAUE CITY, Cebu – The Land Transportation Office in Central Visayas (LTO-7) has temporarily suspended the conduct of the Theoretical Driving Course (TDC) at the Malasakit Drivers Education Center located along Natalio Bacalso Avenue in Cebu City.
The agency made the announcement after Cebu City was placed under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ), which started on August 1, 2021.
LTO-7 Director Victor Caindec, in a statement, said that they also stopped receiving bookings for the next TDC schedules.
Caindec said they will be making an announcement as soon as they are able to come up with new processes or means on how to avail of the scholarship program.
The Malasakit DEC caters to up to 25 individuals per week.
Meanwhile, Caindec said that the mobile TDC that is scheduled this week in Aloguinsan town in southern Cebu will push through.
“We have allocated 50 slots for mobile TDC for Aloguinsan town since we have to limit the scholars based on the venue that was given to us by the LGU of Aloguinsan,” he said.
“We will follow the IATF protocol as we continue to serve our clients in the different parts of the region,” the regional director added.
LTO-7 reported a total of 4,181 scholarships as of July 31, 2021, nine months after or since it started in October 2020.
