GINATILAN, CEBU — Aljun Pepito, who recently went viral on social media after he was spotted riding a dilapidated bike in Manipis, Talisay City, received a brand-new bike from a group of kind-hearted cyclists.
According to Adz Sanchez, when he saw the photo of Pepito, he was deeply touched so he and his fellow cyclists decided to help him out.
“Magtan-aw ka niya desidido kaayo siya sa iyang pagbike. Mao to na inspire pud ko niya isip usa pud ka cyclist nga tabangan nako siya makabike og bag-o,” Sanchez said.

LaLen Photography, the uploader of the viral photo, told CDN Digital that Pepito lives in a cemetery in Barangay Pardo, Cebu City. He is an orphan after his father died last year.
According to them, the 17-year-old lad bought his old bike with the money he earned working in the cemetery.
A lot of netizens likewise extended their help to Pepito, sending him goods and new clothes.
Manipis Central Highway (MCH) Photographers helped each other to accommodate the donations given by netizens after Pepito’s photo went viral.
“Sa floor ra cya matulog hapinan lang nya karton. Naay nihatag namo budget para mapalitan og folding bed, unlan and habol,” LaLen Photography said.
(He only sleeps on the floor covered with cardboard. Someone gave us a budget to buy him a folding bed, pillow and blanket.)
The photographers also helped and assisted him to enroll in the Alternative Learning System (ALS) to ensure his education and his future.
