Sun Life Financial joins the Ironman Triathlon for the second time this year and one of the participating triathletes under the colors of Sun Life of Canada (Philippines) Inc. is actor, Piolo Pascual.
Being with Sun Life Financials for almost 10 years now and being a keen sports buff, Piolo is very grateful that his Sun Life family is supporting and is behind his career as an athlete. The company is known for its advocacy for a brighter life providing money insurance but what many may not know is that Sun Life is actively involved in different sports activities and one of these is this year’s Ironman 70.3 Triathlon.
Ironman 70.3 Triathlon took place in Cebu City last August 3 and Sun Life Tri Team’s cyclist, Piolo, finished a two-loop, 56-mile course and along with him in the all-male relay race was Jan Michael Chiu on the swimming division and Antonio Ty on the running. Others who competed in the mixed relay category also under Sun Life Tri Team were Karen Jonas, Ray Alejandrino, and Micahel Manuel. Kristoffer Patron, Philip Casanova, and Don Guitierrez participated in the individual category.
Sun Life Tri Team went regional this year with athletes from the Netherlands on board. Sun Life Hong Kong President, Wim Hekstra led the pack who competed in the individual category together with Adriaan Lanser, Derk van den Heuvel, and Mark te Riele.
The multi-awarded industrial designer Kenneth Cobonpue, who is the company’s brand ambassador in Cebu, designed the medals that were awarded to the winners.
