A 30-year-old woman was fatally stabbed by her neighbor in barangay Sabang, Olango Island, Lapu-Lapu City.
Oliva Butalid was attacked inside her house around 11 a.m. last Monday.
The suspect, Jeremy Casio, 22, surrendered to the police after the incident.
Police said the attack may have been triggered by an incident where the victim allegedly threatened to report to the authorities Casio’s alleged involvement in illegal drug activity.
Some neighbors told police that they heard a commotion inside the victim’s house.
Casio was later seen fleeing from the house where Butalid was found with several stab wounds in the body.
