Police Colonel Josefino Ligan, CCPO director, reminds the public to strictly adhere the city’s health protocols as they will also be stern in their implementation.
CEBU CITY, Philippines — The top official of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) said that they will continue to strictly implement the minimum health protocols despite the easing of the city’s quarantine status and the decreasing COVID-19 cases here.
Police Colonel Josefino Ligan, CCPO director, said that while the city is placed under a more relaxed quarantine status, the stricter they would implement the health protocols since more people will now venture out of their houses.
“Padayon ang atoang apprehensions . It is in this period atong pahinumduman ang atong mga kaigsuonan nga dili pa mag-kompyansa. Kay lower classification meaning people are going out specially when we intend to shift to MGCQ (modified general community quarantine) in the end of this month,” Ligan said.
The city was placed under general community quarantine (GCQ) from September 1 to September 30, 2021, and Ligan said this may be lowered to MGCQ after.
He also revealed that the more apprehensions they made, the lesser COVID cases were recorded in the city.
From September 8 to September 21, the top police official said they recorded a total of 2,835 apprehensions and rescued 639 minors.
The majority of them were caught violating curfew hours with 2,713 and for non-wearing of face masks with 940.
The data also showed a significant decrease in apprehensions from August 1 to September 7, where the city was placed under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) with 8,882 and lesser rescued minors with 2,422. /rcg
