CEBU CITY, Philippines – Authorities here seized a total P7.3 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested a high-value individual in a buy-bust operation along Abellana Street, Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City on Tuesday evening, October 26, 2021.

Police Colonel Josefino Ligan, director of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), said the buy-bust operation, led by the operating unit from Guadalupe Police Station, resulted to the confiscation of 1,075 grams of suspected shabu and apprehension of a certain Ramil Cabajar.

A total of nine large packs and seven medium-size of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P7.3 million were recovered from Cabajar’s possession.

Ligan said the 34-year-old suspect, who is a native of Bonbon, a mountain barangay in Cebu City, seemed to be in-charge for safekeeping of illegal drugs and is a runner for a former detainee in Muntinlupa.

“Naa siya’y amo gihapon nga basi sa atoang investigation, napriso pero dugay nang nakalaya. So ato na gisubay ron pero wala na siya diri ron,” said Ligan, stressing that his boss is a resident of Barangay Guadalupe.

Ligan further said that Cabajar confirmed he could dispose at least one kilo of shabu per week in his area of jurisdiction in Barangays Quiot, Hipodrimo, Guadalupe, Bonbon, and Malubog.

“Kining tawhana, in short, bodegero ni sa nakalaya sa Muntinlupa. Di sa i-reveal ang iyang ngalan kay padayon paman ang pagpangita niya. Mao lagi kay atong nadawat nga report is nakalaya na siya, so ato ning pangitaon,” said Ligan.

Police Major Jonathan Dela Cerna, chief of the Guadalupe Police Station, said that the suspect’s mode of transaction to his buyers is through mobile phone.

In an interview with reporters, Cabajar said he does not know the people he was transacting with, including his boss, stressing that he was just instructed on what to do through his mobile phone.

The suspect, who claimed to be a former salon crew, said he was just prompted to engage in such illegal activities after he was retrenched from his work due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
